- Physical Characteristics -
Height: 6’2”
Weight: 170 lbs
Build: A bit broad shouldered, little on the scrawny side. He’s got long arms and legs. Not to say he doesn’t have some nice arm muscle, since he uses those paint brushes to good use.
Hair: To mid neck, semi-short cut, wavy dark auburn (bit more on the red side than brown) hair.
Skin: Pale shade of pink. Some barely noticeable light brown freckles over nose and under eyes on the cheek. Since he doesn’t get much sunlight anywhere else, the rest of his is paler and far less freckles.
General Appearance: Harry is tall, a little lanky and twig-like, but carries with himself a sense of authority, the type to sneer and look down on others he does not think deserve the light of day. He has quite the gorgeous wavy head of hair, possibly hiding the tiniest brown nubby horns on top of his head. One smaller than the other at an attempt to sand them down to nothing, which was far harder work than needed, so growing his hair out nice and thick did a better job of hiding it.
His eyes are a sharp, piercing light hazel. His skin fair, freckles lightly dancing across nose and cheeks. His hands are rather large, or so they look. He tends to keep them covered in white gloves. Most of his body tends to be wrapped up in layers of clothing. In order to keep sunlight from giving away the see-through scale-skin he has.
Nose is prominent, sharply pointed but fits his shapely face nicely.
His canines are slightly more sharper than average. Nothing worth noting unless you were really staring.
Favored Outfit / Clothing: Despite the time period of 2013, Harold sort of dresses as if from the past. Preferring almost Victorian-themed fashion. Suits, tail coats, fancy designer gloves and scarves, etc. Could even call him a hipster in some cases.
- Powers -
Species: Meta (Illegally Registered Human under the orchestrated lie that his stillborn sister was the meta and he was the human, later altering results for licensing due to parental connections)
Abilities: Chameleon - Harold has the ability to use his blended in scales to defensively take on the appearance of the objects around him. He has poor training on this, however. Another reason he wears gloves and such to hide that embarrassment. It barely hides him that well when he has so much clothing on him unless a suit is actually created to accommodate his mutation. Or walk around naked, which is not a thing he’d want to do.
Weaknesses: Any human weakness is applied to him. Really. He’s not invincible at all.
Description of Powers: His “invisibility” is really all that he has. It’s not even all that impressive.
- History -
Hometown: New Haven (High class area, sort of closer to the middle-class than most)
Back-story: Born to the wealthy French baron family of the Flauberts, he was quite literally dropped into the lap of luxury. Their parents had moved to America due to the meta problem, since his father’s father had been a meta, himself. However, what type was left unknown as Harold’s father never spoke of him. They feared Harold would possibly be a mutant and had the birth at the estate. They ended up with twins, but the second baby,a girl, had been stillborn and as far as they knew, not a meta. Harold, however, had tiny little horns.
In order to hide this shame, they attempted to use the DNA samples of their deceased child to pass as Harold’s. Nothing money couldn’t buy, after all. And as much as they feared and loathed metas, this was the only chance they would have of raising a child. His mother’s uterus had been technically been too damaged. A miracle she even survived, but even the best family doctors couldn’t fix everything.
Heavily religious as well, they believed he was not simply meta, but cursed. Calling for the best, highly illegal, doctors to run tests and “Exorcisms” when he was around ten years old and showing signs of his unique abilities. He was soon terrified of his own powers because of his parent’s hatred and fear of it. Striking him when he dared to even ask why it was bad.
He was still a boy, no matter how many times they would beat in him that it was evil, he still wanted to play with the other kids. Homeschooling was just no fun. So he would often times strip and go invisible, escape outside, get dressed and join the fun. When his father soon discovered this, it was the worst three years of his life. The doctors grew worse, the beatings grew worse, the indoctrinating grew worst. From then on he would suffer psychologically when ever daring to think of using his powers. One time even trying to cut his head open to get rid of a horn. Scar still there, but thankfully his only real friend at the time had stopped him from seriously harming himself.
With this in mind, he hates most, if not all metas, agreeing with his parents on the Human Liberation Front and painting his feelings on the subject quite expressively. He dabbles in all sorts of styles. His friend, Ashley, happens to help him sell his propaganda paintings. He may also attend riots once in a while and stir trouble and backlash for metas when given the chance.
- Miscellaneous -
Sunlight and stripping him of some manner of clothing would expose the fact he is a meta as his mutation scales would shimmer a bit when the sun hits them.
Terrified of horses and other seemingly large animals
Has a bit of agoraphobia thanks to his parents treatments of him in his youth. So physical touch and being in large crowds and too much attention would set him off into a bit of a panic attack in which he would very much like to disappear. USUALLY by way of running off than actually vanishing.
Harold’s fear of dogs stem from the “Family dog” who was simply a guard dog set on scaring him back into his room whenever he thought of running away. It would always smell him. And it had certainly bit him more often than not. His arms may be quite littered with nasty scars from that. His back not any better from family whippings.
